says Hanwei, her co-star in Love Me, Love Me Not, who got to smooch the
angelic-faced actress.
Love Me, Love Me Not.
You
decide if you would fall in love with the new sugary sweet Li-lin, previously
known as Wong Li-lin.
Yes, it's Li-lin, the kick-ass Inspector Elaine we are used to in Triple
Nine. In her comeback drama serial, Love Me, Love Me Not, she plays an
innocent angel who falls from heaven.
"I play an angel who doesn't believe in love. So I came down on earth
to break up couples who are in love, she said at a press conference to
promote the serial on Friday.
The serial, which also stars Jacelyn Tay, Chen Hanwei and Xie Shaoguang,
goes on air on May 17 at 7pm, on MediaCorp TV Channel 8.
Filming the light-hearted comedy has done the eloquent MediaCorp actress
good, it seems.
Clad in a simple white T-shirt and slim pink pants, coupled with a cute
pair of white wings behind her back, Li-lin looked radiant.
She smiled a lot for the cameras, made faces, playfully teased 93.3FM
radio deejay Zhou Chongqing who was seated next to her, and broke into
laughter whenever someone said something funny, or about her.
When Chongqing announced that it was his dream to act opposite his idol
Li-lin, she was delighted. She let out a scream and grinned.
Quite a vast difference from the no-nonsense Li-lin we used to know three
years ago. She explained why she is in high spirits these days.
"I
laugh a lot in this serial. In my past serials, I had to cry and cry.
It was so tiring. It's tiring filming this serial too. The difference
is, I am tired because I laughed too much," she said.
Playing big sister, she poured water for her colleagues Jacelyn and Chongqing,
who were seated beside her during the press conference.
As for her co-star Hanwei, Li-lin said they share a certain amount of
chemistry.
"Our approach to acting is quite similar, so everything went on smoothly,"
she said.
Including the intimate, kissing scenes. Ah kissing. My, is Li-lin good,
said Hanwei.
"Don't be misled by her looks, "he said. "She's quite a daring girl. She
was the one who led me in most of the kissing scenes."
Li-lin screamed out loud.
This was different from his first impression of Li-lin, Hanwei later told
TODAY in an interview.
"At first, she was very quiet. She would always be sitting in one corner
reading a book, or writing something in her diary. But after a while,
she warmed up, and we began to have lots of fun.
"She's westernised. Maybe that's why she's bolder…" Hanwei said of his
new friend. They click perhaps because they are both Virgos, he added.
"Maybe also because I am sampat (uncouth), siao siao (crazy), and she
is also siao siao, that's why we get along very well."
